The Santa Barbara Breakers have signed 3 players for the upcoming 2011 basketball season. Dante Hunter, a 6’3 point guard from Compton, California has agreed to play with the Breakers after being employed in Peru, Honduras and Columbia the past 2 years. He is a 2008 graduate of University of Purdue at Calumette in Gary, Indiana. Hunter averaged 16.3 points per game; 7.2 assists during his most recent stint in Columbia. He will begin play with the team this weekend.
Terrance Worthy, 6’0 guard is a 2010 graduate of Concordia University of Irvine, California. Worthy has played on several tour teams but this will be his first opportunity with a professional team. He is expected to give the Breakers an up-tempo style of play with his outstanding quickness, ballhandling and playmaking abilities.
Sam Ikwe, a 2008 graduate of University of Manilla, Philippines will also be playing in the Lynwood Classic this weekend. Ikwe brings great inside presence at both ends of the floor. The 6’9, 255 pounder will be counted on for rebounding and shoring up the Breakers post defense; something they have lacked at the power forward position in 2010.
The Breakers will be participating in the Lynwood Classic this weekend in Los Angeles with their first games of the year this Saturday evening followed with two games on Sunday.
