The Santa Barbara Breakers are announcing the scheduling of 3 games for November 2010. On Saturday, November 13 and 14, the Breakers will play the Bakersfield Jam of the NBDL (National Basketball Developmental League) and on Saturday, November 20 they will be traveling to play the San Diego Surf of the ABA (American Basketball Association).
The Jam are now the direct affiliates to the Los Angeles Lakers and the Los Angeles Clippers. The Breakers will play the back-to-back games at the Jam’s home court. President and Head Coach Curt Pickering is elated with these two games. “We continue to increase our relationships with the NBA and NBDL and these games provide the opportunity to build a great connection with the Jam owners and Head Coach Will Voight. We will use these games to give our players continued exposure and who knows, maybe we will see a Breaker player in a Jam uniform later this season.”
Three Breaker players have played for the now defunct Los Angeles D-Fenders, who ceased operations this past summer. Rashid Byrd, Cecil Brown and Jelani McCoy have played for the D-Fenders and 9 other Breaker players have suited up for NBDL teams in the past 4 seasons.
In addition to the NBDL games, the Breakers will play the Surf in San Diego on Saturday, November 20. This will be the first of 4 games that the Breakers will play in the ABA during the 2010-11 campaign.
